Saving energy helps the environment since energy is mainly made from non-renewable fuels. Using the non-renewable fuels, that could cause pollution .Wasting energy ,like forgetting to turn off the light, can result in financial problems.

~What Would The Effect Be Like If We Didn't?~

Since non-renewable sources for energy is being used, that could cause global warming. Global warming will result in the world's climate getting much warmer. The warm climate could melt glaciers and cause a higher sea level. The gases that are exerted from the fuels are also causing pollution which could result in hazardous air on Earth.
